Good Things Come to Those Who Wait...

...and wait, and wait! How long ago was NH Sheep & Wool?

Just like the rest of us, the volunteers who run NH Sheep & Wool have full, busy lives. So I guess I shouldn't have been too surprised when the phone rang last Thursday and it was one of the good folks at Hodgepodge Handicrafts (up in Newport, NH) telling me I'd won an item at the raffle!

But I was surprised - so much so that I didn't think to ask which of the half dozen or so items that I'd put tickets on I had won. So Bill and I took a drive up to Newport on Saturday to claim my winnings and check out yet another fiber shop.

So, here is what I wound up with:

There are no tags to tell me what type of wool this is, or how many ounces. But I remember putting tickets in the can for this item because it was such a good assortment of green and yellow shades all in one ball.

Meanwhile, I consider finding Hodgepodge Handicrafts almost a part of my prize. If you haven't been there, it's a lovely shop in an old building with antique wood floors and tin ceilings, and tons of yarns, books, tools, and more everywhere. Plenty of examples of finished knitted, crocheted, and other fiber handwork as well. They don't have a website, but a search on the web will no doubt turn up references that will give you location and phone number. Hodgepodge Handicrafts, in Newport, NH.
