A Bloggers' (Silent) Poetry Reading

Spring Poem

There is a reason
why the soft blush of cherry blossoms
is found in an infant's cheek.

It is not chance
that the sweet chimes of a stream
breaking free of winter's icy grip
can be heard in a child's laughter.

Be certain
that there is no mistake
when you feel the softness of a pussy willow
in the skin of a newborn babe.

All these things are in their proper place
even as the hope of a crocus
blooming in the snow
is present in a child's soul.
